Sodium lactate solution is a natural food additive, it is used as water retention agent, antioxidant synergists, emulsifiers, also can be used as pH adjusting agents ; seasoning materials; flavor modifiers; anti-cold agent; quality improver for baked food (cakes, egg rolls, cookies, etc.); cheese plasticizer. Used as preservative, acidity regulator, and bulking agent. It's widely used in meat and poultry food processing.

In cosmetics industry used in shampoo, liquid soaps or other similar products as it is an effective humectant and moisturizer.
